We create optical/photonic materials, ranging from metamaterials and surfaces to electrochromic films, to simple metallized plastics, for controlling thermal radiation at nano-to-macroscales.
Applications




We use our materials for a range of applications, with a primary emphasis on controlling light and heat in everyday environments.
Buildings & Cities


We study the potential impact of optical materials on cities and buildings, with energy efficiency, sustainability and climate resilience and adaptation as goals.
Physics & The Environment


We also study how emerging optical materials interact with the broader environment, to uncover new functionalities, and to understand their environmental implications.
